Casino Royale

Movie Title : Casino Royale
Directors : Martin Campbell
Starring : Daniel Craig, Eva Green
Genre : Action/Adventure/James Bond
Year of Release : 2006
Movie Length : 144 Minutes
My rating - A+(best)~F-(worst) : B
Short description/summary of the movie :
Casino Royale introduces James Bond before he holds his license to kill. But Bond is no less dangerous, and with two professional assassinations in quick succession, he is elevated to '00' status. Bond's first 007 mission takes him to Uganda where he is to spy on a terrorist, Mollaka. Not everything goes to plan and Bond decides to investigate, independently of MI6, in order to track down the rest of the terrorist cell. Following a lead to the Bahamas, he encounters Dimitrios and his girlfriend, Solange. He learns that Dimitrios is involved with Le Chiffre, banker to the world's terrorist organizations. Secret Service intelligence reveals that Le Chiffre is planning to raise money in a high-stakes poker game in Montenegro at Le Casino Royale. MI6 assigns 007 to play against him, knowing that if Le Chiffre loses, it will destroy his organization. 'M' places Bond under the watchful eye of the beguiling Vesper Lynd. At first skeptical of what value Vesper can provide, Bond's interest in her deepens as they brave danger together and even torture at the hands of Le Chiffre. In Montenegro, Bond allies himself with Mathis MI6's local field agent, and Felix Leiter who is representing the interests of the CIA. The marathon game proceeds with dirty tricks and violence, raising the stakes beyond blood money and reaching a terrifying climax.

My Thoughts : I'm not a big Bond fan, but I think I can handle Daniel Craig as Bond. Not a bad movie.

Movie Title : Grindhouse - Planet Terror and Death Proof
Directors : Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino
Starring : Everyone. :) Rose McGowan and Kurt Russell to name 2.
Genre : Action/Horror/Sci-Fi
Year of Release : 2007
Movie Length :191 minutes
My rating - A+(best)~F-(worst) : A+
Short description/summary of the movie :
An homage to exploitation B-movie thrillers that combines two feature-length segments into one double-bill designed to replicate the grind house theatergoing experience of the 70s and 80s. In "Death Proof," a psycho named Stuntman Mike (Kurt Russell) stalks and kills beautiful women with his car. In "Planet Terror," a small-town sheriffs' department has to deal with an outbreak of murderous, infected people called "sickos." A gun-legged woman named Cherry (Rose McGowan) and her martial arts-wielding partner (Freddy Rodriguez) take on the zombie army. The two films will be fused together by fake movie trailers

My Thoughts : LOVED it. I had a feeling I would because I love both directors. Planet Terror was a stupidly (in a good way) entertaining gorefest. (Doggy!!) Death Proof was my favorite though, loved the ending.

His true identity is only known by his superiors Dignam and Oliver Queenan. The protégée of Costello, Colin Sullivan, is promoted in the Massachusetts State Police and is the informer of Costello. Each police officer gives his best effort trying to disclose the identity of the other "rat".

My Thoughts : Unbelievably violent movie. Foul language....I freakin' loved it! :)  Fantastic acting by all, the storyline was really great and for such a long movie, I was on the edge of my seat for pretty much the last half of it.  If you can stand the violence and language, it's worth seeing.

However, the misfit Mumble cannot sing, but instead has an extraordinary talent to tap dance with almost magical energy and expression. Nevertheless, the deeply conformist leadership of the colony fearfully blames the young penguin's unorthodox ways for the lean fishing that threatens them all. Defiant in the face of unjust rejection, Mumble and his true friends set out to find the true cause of the famine. Through the motley crew's trials and perils, Mumble learns many things about his frozen world, not the least of which being that his toe tapping talent may be what he needs to save his people

My Thoughts : Cute movie, good animation, good singing. The story was a little odd, but so are tap dancing penguins!

Breakfast At Tiffany's

Movie Title : Breakfast At Tiffany's
Directors : Blake Edwards
Starring : Audrey Hepburn, George Peppard
Genre : Romantic Comedy
Year of Release : 1961
Movie Length : 115 minutes
My rating - A+(best)~F-(worst) :  A+

Holly's lifestyle confuses and fascinates Paul; in public she flits through parties with a sexy, sophisticated air, but when they're alone she changes into a sweetly vulnerable bundle of neuroses.

My Thoughts :
Finally  got to watching this and I loved it! I read Capote's short story last year and, yeah, they really sweetened up the movie. The story's Holly was a little more....not caring. And much more a prostitute. This is one movie I think I need to own!
